"Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves

It's hard to believe that the song "Walking on Sunshine" (made popular by the band Katrina and the Waves) started off as a ballad. It's also hard to believe that this infectious pop song has been around for more than 25 years now. But it has.

Something about the driving beat and catchy melody of this track just makes you, as the song says, "feel good."

You'd think a song released in 1985 wouldn't have much of an impact in more recent years. But that's not the case with "Walking on Sunshine." It's estimated that the song earned more than $10 million in royalties between 2000 and 2010 -- mainly because of it's frequent use in advertising and movies.

The song has been featured in several films, including American Psycho (2000), High Fidelity (2000), The Secret of My Success (1987), Daddy Day Care (2003), Bean (1997), Look Who's Talking (1989), and more.
